In the past year Alpha Delta raise over $20,000 for our philanthropy, Arthritis Research. Arthritis is the number one most painful disease that does not have a cure. The foundation grants funds annually to support arthritis research for the purpose of finding the cause and a cure. In addition, the Foundation supports the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization with grants for family arthritis education and children’s arthritis cramps. We hold two annual fundraisers to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. In the fall we will be holding our BACKYARD BASH. We will be serving lunch at our house three hours prior to the kick off of the BAMA vs. Ole Miss game on Oct. 18, 2008. In the spring we held our first annual RUN FOR ROSES road race. Raising over $10,000 dollars from the race we consider it to have been a great success. We had over 1,000 participants including the University’s mascot, BIG AL! At the Leadership Institute this summer Alpha Delta was recognized and awarded for being the chapter who raised the most money for our philanthropy during the 07-08 school year.
